Damon Dash is asserting his financial struggles and requesting a significant reduction in his monthly child support payments to his baby mama, Rachel Roy, with whom he shares a daughter. In recent legal documents filed in their custody case, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder claims he can only afford to pay $428 per month.
According to the documents, Dash attributes his financial constraints to several business ventures that have not yielded successful results. He emphasizes a diminished income, stating that he earned a meager $5,140 in total for the entire year of 2022. Dash points out that his financial situation took a hit in 2020 due to the pandemic, and he has struggled to recover ever since.
Currently, Dash is obligated to pay around $3,000 per month in child support to Rachel Roy. In response to his plea for reduced payments, Rachel filed documents challenging Dash’s claim of financial hardship. She argues that Dash still holds a significant stake in Roc-A-Fella that should contribute to his income. Additionally, she alleges that Dash has undisclosed revenue streams that he has not revealed to the court.
As of now, a judge has not made a ruling on Damon Dash’s request for a lowered child support payment.
