Entertainment mogul Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, recently addressed long-standing rumors about an alleged beef with actor Will Smith during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. The rumor in question pertains to Diddy’s supposed desire to engage in a physical altercation with the “Fresh Prince” star due to Smith’s alleged advances towards Jennifer Lopez while she and Diddy were dating.
According to the rumor mill, it was claimed that Diddy wanted to confront Will Smith for allegedly pursuing a threesome with Jennifer Lopez, who was Diddy’s girlfriend at the time. Diddy and Lopez became one of the most talked-about celebrity couples in the late ’90s, igniting a romantic relationship in 1999 before eventually parting ways in 2001.
The threesome rumor resurfaced when a man named Gene Deal, who claimed to have worked as Diddy’s bodyguard, shared an anecdote about Diddy discussing the situation. During an interview, Deal recounted Diddy’s supposed reaction, which included the desire to confront Will Smith.
However, during his recent conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Diddy vehemently denied these claims. When asked about the rumor, he humorously responded, “This show has gotten crazier since the last time. You really heard that? Nah.” Kimmel, in jest, emphasized the importance of not believing everything one reads on the internet, to which Diddy added, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Jimmy, I thought we were friends”.
The story, as recounted by Gene Deal, revolved around Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, allegedly expressing their interest in engaging in a sexual encounter with Jennifer Lopez, leading to Diddy’s anger and desire for a confrontation. Deal claimed that while all these celebrities were in the same room during a star-studded event, Diddy approached him with concerns about the Smiths’ intentions.
According to Deal, Diddy believed that the Smiths were attempting to persuade Jennifer Lopez, and he threatened to confront Will Smith. Laughingly, Deal recalled how he expressed his confidence in Smith’s ability to handle the situation in a physical altercation.
This incident is a vivid memory for Deal, who commented that Diddy should have been more concerned about actor Ben Affleck at the event. Shortly after her separation from Diddy in 2002, Lopez began dating Ben Affleck from 2002 to 2004. In a heartwarming twist of fate, the couple recently rekindled their romance nearly two decades later and officially tied the knot in August of the previous year.
Diddy’s recent clarification provides some insight into his perspective on the long-standing rumors about his alleged feud with Will Smith. It appears that, according to Diddy, these rumors are nothing more than baseless hearsay.
