Tragedy strikes Iyanla Vanzant’s family as her youngest daughter, Nisa Vanzant, passes away. The heart-wrenching news was shared on Iyanla’s Instagram page on Sunday, July 30, leaving fans and followers in deep sorrow. The family has requested prayers and privacy during this difficult time.
Nisa’s cause of death remains undisclosed, adding to the pain of losing a loved one. This loss comes two decades after Iyanla’s eldest daughter, Gemmia, succumbed to colon cancer at the young age of 30. In a 2014 episode of Super Soul Sunday with Oprah Winfrey, Iyanla revealed the depths of her despair and suicidal thoughts upon discovering Gemmia’s journal. The pain and struggles she faced seemed insurmountable, but she found the strength to carry on.
Iyanla Vanzant, now 69, began her remarkable journey as a public defender and later ventured into radio hosting. Her appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show catapulted her to fame, and she became a regular guest on the show. This collaboration ultimately led to her own talk show, “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” which aired on Oprah’s OWN Network from 2012 to 2021.
Despite the hardships she endured, Iyanla Vanzant has continued to inspire and empower others as a life coach and motivational speaker. Her unwavering determination to heal herself and help others find solace has touched countless lives.
