Kanye West Regrets Sharing His Best Beats During G.O.O.D. Music’s “Wyoming Sessions”

Published:

In recently leaked footage from a 2018 documentary, Kanye West expresses regret for not keeping his best beats for himself during the 5-album “Wyoming Sessions” run in 2018. He felt that artists like Pusha T, Nas, and Teyana Taylor didn’t fully appreciate his musical genius.

During this period, Kanye was focused on revitalizing his G.O.O.D. Music label and created a series of albums while staying at his Wyoming ranch. In the leaked footage, Kanye voiced his frustrations to his then-manager Scooter Braun.

He criticized himself for providing Teyana Taylor with her biggest hit, “Gonna Love Me,” and for giving beats to Pusha T for his “Daytona” album, which Kanye felt didn’t reach the level of his acclaimed album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”

Even Nas, who collaborated with Kanye on his “NASIR” album to conclude his Def Jam contract, faced Kanye’s criticism. Kanye accused Nas of rapping off-beat on the track “Cops Shot the Kid” and criticized his indecisiveness during the music video rollout.

Kanye believed that these artists were simply riding his wave and not appreciating his true artistic greatness. He asserted, “These muthafas don’t appreciate me. These muthafas are trying to use me. I’m the greatest muthaf***ing artist living, and I can do everything.”

Kanye was adamant that he deserved his own music festival after feeling disappointed by performing at other events. He warned Scooter that he didn’t want to end up like XXXTENTACION, who was tragically shot and killed during that time.

Cardi B was also criticized in the unreleased documentary, but she has since forgiven Kanye. It remains to be seen whether Kanye’s former G.O.O.D. Music artists will do the same.
