Good Morning America’s beloved anchor, Robin Roberts, and her partner of 18 years, Amber Laign, exchanged vows in a heartwarming backyard ceremony at their Connecticut home on Friday. The joyous celebration was marked by a weekend reception filled with love and laughter.
The picturesque wedding took place in their Connecticut backyard, with the couple’s childhood pastor officiating the heartfelt ceremony. The radiant brides, both adorned in custom-made gowns by designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka, shared their special day with close friends and family.
Notable attendees included TV personalities such as Al Roker, Erielle Reshef, Lara Spencer, and Dr. Jen Ashton, among others. Sam Champion, the meteorologist and co-star to Roberts, was present with his husband, Rubem Robierb, to celebrate the joyous occasion.
The couple’s Tibetan Spaniel Papillon mix, LuKas, even dressed up for the occasion, donning a black and white bowtie. LuKas took to his Instagram account to express his excitement, proudly announcing, ‘My mommies are MARRIED! Married?…..yes…..married!!!!!’
Robin Roberts, 62, and Amber Laign, 48, have shared a deep and loving relationship for nearly two decades, having first met on a blind date. However, they officially announced their relationship in 2013.
Their love endured life’s challenges, including both being diagnosed with breast cancer. During these trying times, they stood by each other’s side, with Robin affectionately calling Amber ‘Sweet Amber’ due to her genuine kindness and unwavering support.
In contrast to the joyful celebration, two former colleagues, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, were notably absent from the guest list. Robach and Holmes, who were fired from GMA in 2023 after their romantic involvement was exposed, were not invited to the wedding. The decision reportedly stemmed from a desire to maintain a tight-knit circle of trusted friends and associates at the celebration.
Despite the absence of some former colleagues, Robin Roberts and Amber Laign’s wedding was a heartwarming and memorable occasion, marked by love, laughter, and the start of a beautiful new chapter in their enduring relationship.
