In a recent development, Darius Jackson, the ex-boyfriend of Keke Palmer, has filed a counterclaim asserting that Palmer was the primary aggressor in their relationship, countering her previous accusations of abuse. Jackson’s response, filed on Friday, sheds light on a different perspective, claiming that Palmer engaged in both physical and verbal abuse during their two-and-a-half-year relationship.
Palmer, known for her entertainment career, had previously been granted a temporary restraining order and sole custody of their 10-month-old child after accusing Jackson of ongoing abuse. In his counterclaim, Jackson presents his side of the story, accompanied by images of injuries he allegedly sustained during the alleged incidents.
One image reportedly shows superficial scratch marks inflicted by Palmer in October 2021, during an altercation in which she allegedly “violently gripped my arm to prevent me from leaving.” The dispute arose when Jackson wanted to leave their home to watch a football game, prompting a text from him to Palmer, stating, “You will never put your hands on me again.”
Another incident highlighted in Jackson’s legal filing occurred in October 2022 during a vacation in Cancun for his birthday. According to Jackson, Palmer became violent when he couldn’t find his phone, leading to physical aggression and the dropping of his phone. Texts included in the filing reveal Jackson’s mother urging him to document injuries, stating, “Take all the pictures because she is the celebrity,” emphasizing the need to protect himself.
The counterclaim challenges the narrative previously presented by Palmer, showcasing a complex and contentious relationship between the two. As both sides present their perspectives, the legal proceedings surrounding the allegations are likely to intensify, bringing further scrutiny to the high-profile couple’s tumultuous history.
