Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph breathed a sigh of relief as she confirmed her safety following the passage of Hurricane Beryl over Jamaica. The “Abbott Elementary” star, who was in Jamaica for her son’s wedding, shared her gratitude with fans after the Category 4 storm skirted the island without causing significant damage to her home in Kingston or harm to her loved ones.

In a reassuring message to her followers, Sheryl expressed her thankfulness for surviving the storm unscathed, despite the temporary power outage in the area. She likened Hurricane Beryl to a swift Jamaican track star moving on to another destination, while acknowledging the devastation caused in other regions such as Carriacou in Grenada.

As Beryl’s destructive path continued towards Mexico and Texas, Sheryl urged her supporters to keep the affected areas in their thoughts and prayers. Despite the challenges posed by the storm, Sheryl remained optimistic and even shared a heartwarming moment of singing Bob Marley’s classic “One Love” in anticipation of her son Etienne Maurice’s wedding to ABC News journalist Stephanie Wash.

With the wedding plans still intact, Sheryl’s joy and relief were palpable, offering congratulations to the happy couple amidst the aftermath of the turbulent weather.
