After an intense legal battle, Boosie Badazz, the renowned Baton Rogue rapper, has finally been released on bond. Celebrating his newfound freedom, he wasted no time in making a big announcement on Instagram in the early hours of Saturday (June 24). Sporting a thicker goatee and his signature Boosie fade, he couldn’t contain his excitement as he addressed his fans.
“He’s Baaaaaack!” Boosie exclaimed into the camera. Overflowing with gratitude, he expressed his thanks to God, his family, and the prayer warriors who supported him during his time in jail. The rapper’s jubilation was evident as he eagerly looked forward to attending the 2023 BET Awards in Los Angeles, requesting three tickets while playfully adding that his attorneys would be joining him.
The moment a fan called out “Badazz “upon spotting him, the 40-year-old rapper responded, “Dat’s me! Boosie Badazz! Dat’s me, n-gga! I’m out! Dat’s me!” He repeatedly chanted his name while confidently asserting his return. Boosie made sure to highlight his newly released album, aptly titled “First Day Back, “describing it as “pressure.”
In subsequent Instagram posts, he shared his celebratory meal at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and addressed the misconceptions surrounding his criminal record. Boosie Badazz, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., was detained last week in SanDiego, CA, moments after having a separate gun case dismissed by a judge.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Boosie faced multiple gun charges, including “felony possession of a firearm and transporting firearms across highways.” Initially denied bail, his fortunes changed when a federal court approved his request on Tuesday (June 20), setting the bond at $50,000. However, federal prosecutors attempted to keep him in custody by filing a motion, complicating the execution of the bond.
Despite the initial setback, the judge ultimately denied the prosecutors ‘request, leading San Diego prosecutors to appeal the decision. Boosie expressed his frustration on Twitter, accusing one of the prosecutors, Mr. Michael Wheat, of misconduct.
“After the judge has granted me a bond, and I paid my full cash amount, the prosecution refuses to respect the judge’s decision to let me go, ” he wrote. “They showed no evidence of me being a flight risk or a danger to the community.”
Boosie went on to accuse Wheat of mocking him by singing his 2007 hit “Wipe Me Down “while exhibiting “evil in his eyes.” Calling it a clear case of misconduct, he further alleged that the prosecutor was racist and harbored ill intentions. The prosecution’s subsequent appeal aimed to keep him behind bars until the trial.
With his release on bond, Boosie Badazz is ready to reclaim his place in the music industry, channeling his experiences into his latest album. As the legal battles continue, his fans eagerly await the return of the indomitable Boosie Badazz, eager to witness his resurgence and support his triumphant comeback.
