Cardi B has opened up about her struggles living in Atlanta during her ongoing divorce from Offset, the city’s own hip-hop star. In an Instagram Live session on August 22, the rapper candidly expressed her dislike for the city, making it clear that she does not call Atlanta home, despite assumptions to the contrary.
“I don’t live in Atlanta. I have a house there, but I only visit three or four times a year, usually for about a week,” Cardi explained. She recounted her brief attempt to settle in the city in 2018, saying, “I lived there for six months, and I hated it. I don’t have any friends or family in Atlanta, so it just doesn’t feel like home to me.”
During the same live stream, Cardi faced a surprising moment when incarcerated rapper Pooh Shiesty made a move on her, jokingly commenting, “I’m 5 mins away baby open the door.” Offset, who is currently in the process of divorcing Cardi while she is pregnant with their third child, responded to the situation with a series of laughing emojis on X (formerly Twitter).
Cardi filed for divorce from Offset for the second time earlier this month, with sources indicating that the split had been “a long time coming.” The couple reportedly tried to reconcile earlier this year but ultimately found themselves growing apart. Although the separation is described as amicable, Cardi has enlisted a high-powered divorce attorney and is seeking primary custody of their two children, six-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave.
In her live session, Cardi also addressed rumors surrounding their marriage, particularly claims about Offset not being supportive with family duties. “This is getting weird because I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids,” she clarified. She further refuted any gossip from friends or family, asserting, “Never in my career, no matter what I went through, have I had friends or family go to the media.”
Interestingly, on the same day she filed for divorce, Cardi revealed that she and Offset are expecting their third child together, adding another layer of complexity to their already tumultuous relationship.
