Drake’s recent shoutout to photographer MegYup during his Houston concert has created confusion among fans, as some interpreted it as a veiled diss towards Megan Thee Stallion.
During Drake’s show on September 18, he took a moment to acknowledge MegYup by name, saying, “Real H-Town love, shout out to Meg one time for real … not that Meg, this Meg.”
Given Drake’s history of referencing the Houston rap star, particularly with a perceived diss in the track “Circo Loco,” fans on social media began speculating about the intent behind his shoutout.
MegYup herself addressed the situation on her social media, expressing frustration with trolls who misconstrued her moment and ultimately decided to focus on promoting Drake’s upcoming album.
Alex Spiro, who represented Megan Thee Stallion during her trial against Tory Lanez, stated that Drake and others who doubted the verdict would have to face the facts, which history shows favored Megan.
Drake has not commented further on his “Circo Loco” lyrics or mentioned Megan Thee Stallion since the trial’s conclusion.
