Marcus Jordan, the 32-year-old second-oldest son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, has openly expressed his desire to have his father, Michael Jordan, play the role of best man at his wedding to reality TV star Larsa Pippen, 49, despite his father’s previous disapproval of their relationship.
During a recent interview, Marcus Jordan confirmed that a wedding is in the cards for him and his rumored fiancée, Larsa Pippen. When asked about their wedding plans, Marcus replied, “It’s in the works is my go-to saying right now. I don’t think we have a date. We’re still talking about locations and party size and all of that stuff. So it’s not really concrete yet, but it’ll happen.”
Despite Michael Jordan’s earlier statement indicating his disapproval of his son’s relationship with the TV personality, Marcus is resolute in his desire to have his father serve as the best man at his wedding.
Larsa Pippen is the former wife of Michael’s former Chicago Bulls teammate, Scottie Pippen. Both basketball legends achieved significant success together, winning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls during the ’80s and ’90s. Larsa and Scottie Pippen were married from 1997 to 2021 and had four children together: Scotty Jr., Preston, Justin, and Sophia.
Marcus stated, “Yeah, you know, look, I was the best man at his wedding and the best man at my brother’s wedding, and so obviously, we’ll keep that tradition going is my thoughts on it.”
Furthermore, Marcus hinted at the possibility of their wedding ceremony being broadcast on television, especially since Larsa, his rumored soon-to-be wife, is a cast member on the reality series “Real Housewives Of Miami.”
When asked about maintaining their love amid the public eye, Marcus explained, “We’re very private people, the Jordans, and so if it was up to me, I think we would do maybe multiple weddings. One private for our family and friends and then maybe there’s one that’s a little more public. But I guess time will tell.”
The public will certainly be eager to witness whether the NBA star ultimately fulfills his role as best man at Marcus’s impending wedding, particularly after expressing his reservations about his son’s high-profile relationship earlier this year.
The dating rumors between Marcus and Larsa first emerged in November 2022 when they were spotted together at an NFL game. Although they initially claimed to be just friends, they confirmed their relationship by going Instagram official at the start of the year. The couple also launched a joint podcast titled “Separation Anxiety” in June, solidifying their status as a couple.
