Renowned producer Swizz Beatz has addressed the backlash surrounding his controversial partnership with Elon Musk.
In response to the criticism from disappointed fans regarding the decision to transition Verzuz content to X (formerly Twitter), Swizz Beatz took to social media to share a series of images alongside his Verzuz co-founder, Timbaland, with a caption that read: “We will show you better than tell you.”
This response came on the heels of widespread backlash following the announcement of a deal with the Tesla CEO, which entails producing exclusive Verzuz content for X without any cost to viewers. Critics were quick to point out Musk’s history of racial discrimination allegations, questioning the alignment of Black-owned businesses with such figures.
Despite ongoing concerns raised by followers, Swizz Beatz engaged with fans in the comments section, reiterating that he and Timbaland maintain full ownership of the platform, standing by their commitment to remain “100% Black-owned.” He emphasized that they did not compromise their values or “sell out,” addressing the doubts surrounding the partnership.
