Renowned rapper T.I. has taken a significant step toward addressing housing issues in Atlanta by unveiling the Intrada Westside, a transformative affordable housing community featuring 140 residential units. The project, developed in collaboration with the Missouri-based Vecino Group, was officially inaugurated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by notable figures such as Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Atlanta Housing Chief Operating Officer Terri Lee.
Intrada Westside, located at 2174–2176 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, is a standout multi-family development distinguished by its unwavering commitment to providing affordable housing solutions. COO Terri Lee emphasized the development’s significance, stating, “Intrada Westside is a remarkable multi-family development that stands out for its dedication to affordable housing and for providing housing for persons who were homeless. Atlanta Housing is proud to play a part in making this property fully affordable and sustainable.”
The community comprises 143 residential units, with a particular emphasis on addressing the needs of the community through 25 units designated for permanent supportive housing (PSH) under Atlanta Housing’s HomeFlex-HAVEN program. This initiative aims to offer stable housing solutions for individuals facing homelessness. Additionally, the development includes commercial and retail spaces that are poised to contribute to the economic growth of the neighborhood.
In a thoughtful touch, community gardens have been integrated into the project to foster a sense of community and well-being among residents. This holistic approach not only addresses housing concerns but also emphasizes the importance of communal spaces and overall community development.
T.I.’s initiative in developing the Intrada Westside showcases a proactive effort to make affordable housing more accessible, providing a positive impact on the lives of those in need while contributing to the economic and social vitality of the Atlanta community.
