TLC’s Heartbreak: T-Boz Hospitalized, Shows Canceled

Published:

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC have been forced to cancel their performances this weekend after T-Boz was hospitalized. Initially thought to be food poisoning, her condition turned out to be much more serious.

On Saturday, August 24, TLC shared a heartfelt statement on Instagram detailing the situation. After a high-energy show in Toledo, Ohio, the duo looked forward to performing at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. However, upon arrival, T-Boz experienced severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps, prompting immediate medical attention.

Doctors diagnosed her with a severe abdominal blockage, leading to the cancellation of both the Syracuse and Foxwoods shows. T-Boz is currently under medical supervision but is expected to be released soon. The group expressed deep regret for the cancellations and promised to reschedule as soon as possible.

T-Boz has bravely battled sickle cell anemia since birth, raising awareness about the hereditary blood disorder and its challenges. Despite the hurdles, she remains a strong advocate for those affected by the disease.

TLC, one of the best-selling girl groups in history, originally included T-Boz, Chilli, and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Their iconic albums, such as CrazySexyCool and FanMail, produced timeless hits like “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs,” securing their legacy in music. The loss of Left Eye in 2002 continues to inspire the group as they honor her memory in their journey.
