In a long-awaited revelation, Will Smith has officially confirmed the release of his first new album in nearly two decades, putting an end to months of speculation among his dedicated fan base.
In a recent interview shared by the Instagram account Black Film Allies, Smith opened up about his upcoming musical project, marking his return to the music scene since his last album, “Lost and Found,” released back in 2005.
During the interview, Smith shared, “Over the past year and a half, I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into the studio. This new album is by far my most personal and profound musical endeavor yet. Its essence revolves around the theme of ‘Dance in your darkest moments.'”
A teaser post on Smith’s Instagram on a Tuesday showcased a snippet of his collaboration with Russ titled “Work Of Art,” where Smith excitedly announced, “I just wrapped up my album.”
The title of the album, “Dance In Your Darkest Moments,” appears to have been revealed, as the phrase already has a dedicated Instagram page and website. Described as “A human wellness initiative aimed at inspiring self-exploration, promoting acceptance, and fostering a joyous celebration of life,” the project is said to draw inspiration from Will Smith’s own experiences.
In a separate development, Smith also reacted to being mentioned by Childish Gambino during the latter’s candid BET Awards speech. Gambino humorously compared his award count to that of Will Smith and Sam Smith, sparking laughter from the veteran actor and musician.
During his performance of the gospel single “You Can Make It” at the awards show, Smith was visibly entertained by Gambino’s remarks, showcasing his playful side and genuine amusement at the rapper’s witty comments.
Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the release of Will Smith’s latest musical offering, set to mark a significant milestone in his illustrious career and undoubtedly leaving a lasting impact on the music industry.
