US rapper Wiz Khalifa found himself in hot water after his performance at the “Beach, Please!” festival in the Romanian village of Costinesti on the shores of the Black Sea. The hip-hop sensation was charged with illegal drug possession for allegedly consuming cannabis on stage, an act that caught the attention of authorities on Sunday.
In Romania, cannabis is classified as a “risk drug,” with possession carrying a potential punishment of up to 10 years in prison. Videos circulating on social media captured the moment when Romanian authorities escorted Wiz Khalifa from the venue following the incident.
According to Romanian anti-organised crime prosecutors, the rapper was found in possession of more than 18 grams of cannabis and was observed consuming another quantity in the form of a handmade cigarette during his performance at the music festival held in Costinesti.
