Diddy is taking a stand against Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, calling his lawsuit a mere cash grab cloaked in serious accusations of sex trafficking and RICO conspiracy.
In a motion filed Monday in Manhattan Federal Court, Diddy, along with his attorney Marc Agnifilo, meticulously dismantled each claim made by Jones. The rap mogul accuses Jones of attempting to secure a quick settlement through sensational allegations aimed at damaging his reputation.
Documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Jones recently shared a video with rapper “Uncle Murda,” where they joked about the lawsuit against Diddy. Jones allegedly demanded payment by Monday, claiming he doesn’t “play about our business” given his Chicago roots.
Diddy asserts that Jones failed to demonstrate any actual harm to his “business or property” under the RICO Act, initially claiming damages related to unpaid services for Diddy’s 2023 album, The Love Album: Off The Grid. Furthermore, Diddy argues that Jones hasn’t substantiated his claims under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, nor has he provided sufficient details regarding allegations of sexual assault and harassment.
Diddy also dismissed Jones’ claims of premise liability, emotional distress, and breach of oral contract, stating that Jones did not prove Diddy had control over the locations where the alleged incidents occurred. Additionally, Diddy contends that Jones’ claims of emotional distress lack a legal basis and that the breach of contract claim is too old to be valid.
On another note, Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, faces his own legal troubles, having been referred to a grievance committee for alleged violations in multiple lawsuits. Blackburn responded to TMZ, asserting that Diddy’s legal team is merely trying to profit from a desperate motion to dismiss before potential charges are filed against their client.
