Alicia Keys’ highly anticipated musical, “Hell’s Kitchen,” inspired by her life, is making its move from Off-Broadway to the grand stage of Broadway. Scheduled to premiere at the prestigious Shubert Theater in 2024, the musical promises an unforgettable experience for audiences.

Producers of “Hell’s Kitchen” have outlined their plans for the show, with previews beginning on March 28 and the grand opening night scheduled for April 20 at the Shubert Theater.

The musical, directed by Michael Greif, boasts music and lyrics by Alicia Keys, with a compelling book crafted by Kristoffer Diaz. The show will feature some of Alicia Keys’ greatest hits, including “Fallin’,” “You Don’t Know My Name,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and “Empire State of Mind.”

In a statement, Alicia Keys expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “Good things take time, and for 13 years, I’ve been dreaming, developing, and finding inspiration for a musical based on my experience growing up in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC.” The R&B legend clarified that while “Hell’s Kitchen” is inspired by her life, it is not a biographical story. Instead, it explores themes of family relationships and identity, asking profound questions about who we are, who we want to be, and who we are becoming.

Alicia Keys’ connection to Hell’s Kitchen runs deep, as she grew up in the vibrant neighborhood of New York City. Immersed in musical theatre from a young age, Keys developed into a classically trained pianist and started composing music during her pre-teen years.

With an illustrious three-decade career, Alicia Keys has achieved chart-topping success with albums like “Songs in A Minor,” “The Diary of Alicia Keys,” and “Girl on Fire.” Throughout her remarkable journey, she has garnered 15 Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist in 2002, and has become a cultural icon with four No. 1 singles.
