Amar’e Stoudemire Criticizes Silence on Hamas Attacks, Including Black Lives Matter

Published:

Former NBA All-Star and American-Israeli citizen Amar’e Stoudemire has expressed his strong disapproval of pro-Palestinian politicians and the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement for their perceived silence in response to recent Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel.

In a self-recorded video posted on Instagram, Stoudemire voiced his concern about the tragic events in Israel, highlighting Hamas’ actions, such as kidnapping children, imprisoning them, and targeting women and the elderly. He labeled these actions as “cowardly” and expressed his frustration with those who have remained silent.

Stoudemire directed his criticism at BLM supporters, challenging their hesitation to speak out and urging them to take a stand. He used strong language in his message, expressing his discontent with their lack of response and calling for empathy and condemnation of these heinous acts.

Throughout his career, Stoudemire has been a vocal supporter of Israel, and he became a dual citizen in 2019. He played for Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Tel Aviv, winning two league titles and earning a Finals MVP award during his time in Israel.

While BLM has expressed support for the Palestinian cause, it has typically refrained from endorsing Hamas explicitly in its public messages.

Stoudemire’s passionate video concluded with his appreciation for Israel, emphasizing its unique attributes, such as the opportunity to study Torah and consume kosher food. He expressed his disdain for those who support such acts of violence and called for peace.

Representatives from Black Lives Matter have not provided an immediate response to requests for comment on Stoudemire’s statements.
