Charlamagne Tha God Reveals Complicated Drake Feud Is Part of Album Promotion

Published:

Charlamagne Tha God has made a surprising revelation about his ongoing feud with Drake, suggesting that their public clashes are a strategic part of the rapper’s album rollout.

The feud between the two escalated recently when Charlamagne criticized Drake’s latest single, “Slime You Out” featuring SZA, on his Brilliant Idiots podcast. Charlamagne expressed surprise at the song’s slow tempo, considering the title of Drake’s upcoming album, “For All the Dogs.”

In response, Drake took to social media to taunt Charlamagne, referring to him as an “off brand Morris Chestnut” and questioning his apparent obsession with the rapper.

However, Charlamagne addressed Drake’s comments on “The Breakfast Club,” revealing that their feud is entirely orchestrated for promotional purposes. He humorously claimed, “Drake and I plan this out every time he drops an album. I’m part of the album rollout. He drops a record, I critique it, it brings more attention to the record, more attention to the project.”

Charlamagne explained that while he used to genuinely dislike Drake in the past, their relationship changed after the “Back to Back” diss track and Drake’s gesture of sending bottles with a note that read, “Let’s be friends.” Since then, they have an understanding that Charlamagne will provide critical commentary on certain songs to generate additional buzz for the music.

Despite Charlamagne’s belief that Drake doesn’t need such promotion, he acknowledges that Drake still values their unique dynamic.

The revelation sheds light on the complex and strategic nature of celebrity feuds in the world of entertainment and promotion.
