DeMar DeRozan Sets the Record Straight on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Relationship

Published:

DeMar DeRozan recently shed light on his bond with Drake after his cameo in Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video stirred speculation about their friendship.

Originally hailing from Los Angeles like Kendrick Lamar, DeRozan forged a connection with Drake during his time playing for the Toronto Raptors in the mid-2010s. The two even graced the cover of Slam Magazine’s “6 Gods” edition in 2016.

Despite causing some confusion by appearing on stage at Kendrick’s ‘Pop Out’ show in LA and subsequently featuring in the diss track video, DeRozan clarified his stance in an interview with Fox40 Sports. He emphasized his enduring affection for Drake while highlighting Kendrick’s familial significance in his life.

While the music video for “Not Like Us” unleashed a wave of pointed references aimed at Drake, including symbolic jabs at the OVO logo, DeRozan’s remarks underscored the personal bond he shares with Kendrick Lamar.

Meanwhile, as Drake faced additional teasing from Kendrick’s supporters following the video’s release, with some poking fun at his appearance at Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July White Party, DeRozan’s viewpoint provides a glimpse into the complexities of these high-profile relationships amidst the backdrop of musical rivalries.
