Hunter Biden Indicted on Gun Charges, Alleged Drug Use a Factor

Published:

Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, is facing an indictment on gun charges, with alleged drug use playing a role in the case. Federal prosecutors in Delaware have brought three counts against him, including one count of False Statement in Purchase of a Firearm, one count of False Statement Related to Information Required to be Kept By Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Person who is an Unlawful User of or Addicted to a Controlled Substance.

The indictment stems from Hunter’s purchase of a Colt Cobra revolver in October 2018, during which he allegedly claimed on a form that he was not using illegal drugs. He is also accused of being in possession of a firearm while using narcotics. This development comes after Hunter’s plea deal on tax and gun charges fell apart in July. Special counsel David Weiss is overseeing the case and emerges as House Republicans continue to probe Hunter’s financial matters.
