Emaza Gibson, a 25-year-old aspiring singer, has come forward with serious allegations against R&B star Jason Derulo. Gibson filed a lawsuit against the singer, claiming that he deliberately obstructed her career after she rejected his advances, leaving her feeling traumatized and deeply affected.
Gibson’s legal filing in Los Angeles details a troubling pattern of behavior by Derulo. She alleges that after she declined his advances and refused to spend time with him or drink alcohol, he turned cold and began berating her in front of production staff. She even claims that he angrily charged at her in front of her mother, Sandra, on one occasion.
According to her attorney, Ron Zambrano, these actions amount to “quid pro quo sexual assault” and have had a severe impact on Gibson’s well-being.
In an exclusive interview, Gibson, who also goes by Emaza Dilan, revealed that she was initially excited when Jason Derulo, a TikTok star, approached her in August 2021 with a record deal offer as a solo artist. The deal included a collaboration with Derulo, a single release within four months, and an album within six months.
However, things took a negative turn when she made it clear that she would not compromise her morals to advance her music career. Eventually, her contract was terminated in September, and she claims to have endured immense stress, requiring therapy and expressing discomfort around men.
Jason Derulo has vehemently denied all of Gibson’s allegations, describing them as “false and hurtful.” He released a video statement on his Instagram page, asserting his commitment to opposing harassment and supporting dream-chasers.
Despite Derulo’s denial, Gibson stands by her accusations, emphasizing the truth of her claims. She describes feeling intimidated and traumatized, with her dreams and hard work seemingly taken from her. Gibson also highlights the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions, expressing solidarity with others who have faced similar experiences and found it difficult to speak out.
As she courageously steps forward, Gibson hopes to shed light on her ordeal and encourage others to do the same, ultimately striving for justice and change within the industry.
