During a recent encounter at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, JAY-Z displayed his cool and calm demeanor when a fan, known as K Rich, approached him to humorously answer the ongoing “dinner with JAY-Z or $500K” debate.
In a video K Rich later shared on Instagram, he confidently stated, “I’m taking that $500,000. I ain’t taking that dinner, I’m taking that $500,000,” to the Roc Nation mogul. JAY-Z simply responded with a fist bump and a pat on K Rich’s chest, saying, “Be good, man.” He appeared unfazed, donning a gold watch and holding a tote bag.
Although K Rich faced some criticism for his approach, with some fans suggesting it could have been more iconic, the encounter remained friendly, and JAY-Z’s response was gracious.
JAY-Z also received some screen time during the ESPN broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers game, with NFL legend Troy Aikman joking about their resemblance, referencing a popular meme.
The ongoing “dinner with JAY-Z or $500K” debate began trending on social media in 2021, with fans discussing which option they’d choose. Even JAY-Z’s former streaming platform, TIDAL, expressed its stance by advising fans to take the cash. However, some, like 21 Savage, remain confident that they can manifest both the dinner and the money.
