John Amos’ Son Arrested for Alleged Threats Against Sister Amid Family Feud

Published:

In a distressing turn of events, the son of “Good Times” star John Amos, K.C. Amos, has been taken into custody after his sister, Shannon, accused him of sending her threatening texts, which included images of firearms. This incident has intensified an ongoing family dispute centered around John Amos’ health.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Shannon reported to the West Orange, NJ police that her brother sent her a series of alarming messages, instilling fear for her safety. She claimed that K.C. discussed his alleged gang affiliations, showcasing a handgun and a rifle in the texts. Moreover, he allegedly sent videos of himself firing a handgun in an open field, accompanied by the message, “Gonna sleep much better tonight big sis.”

Shannon further stated that K.C., who reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder, has developed a belief that she hired someone to harm him. This has raised concerns that he may seek retaliation, heightening the gravity of the situation.

These recent events come in the wake of Shannon’s GoFundMe campaign, launched last month, where she alleged elder abuse against their father, John Amos. However, John refuted his daughter’s claims, stating that she was spreading falsehoods, and he remains uncertain about her motivations for initiating the fundraising effort. The GoFundMe page was subsequently removed by the platform after John declined the financial support.

In the midst of this family turmoil, Shannon has asserted that K.C. no longer holds the authority to make medical decisions on behalf of John. She has also issued a cease and desist letter to him, addressing his online comments about her.

It is worth noting that K.C. has been sharing cryptic messages on his social media platforms for some time. A recent TikTok post from less than a week ago alludes to repeated instances of alleged false reports to law enforcement, stating, “Imagine calling the police #Swatting your own brother 24 times over the last 15 years & not one arrest.”
