Kenneth Petty, husband of Nicki Minaj, has found himself under house arrest, facing up to 120 days of home detention after making threatening remarks towards Offset on social media. Petty’s actions violated the terms of his federal probation, as he engaged in threatening behavior while in the presence of individuals with criminal records.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, a judge ordered Petty’s house arrest to closely monitor his activities. As part of this monitoring, Petty may be required to wear an electronic GPS ankle bracelet, although this has not been confirmed yet.
Petty’s legal troubles began when he posted an Instagram video, featuring himself and two associates, in which they made menacing comments directed at Cardi B’s husband, Offset. The video depicted the trio standing across the street from a New York City hotel where Offset was reportedly staying.
In response to this social media exchange, Offset shared his own video, showing himself in good spirits on the tarmac beside his private jet, which was nowhere near the hotel in question.
The authorities did not take these developments lightly, leading to Petty’s house arrest and a stern response from law enforcement.
Kenneth Petty has a history of legal issues, including convictions for attempted rape and attempted murder, resulting in multiple prison sentences. In 2022, he received a three-year probation sentence after failing to register as a sex offender in California.
