Mary J. Blige Set to Launch New Radio Show, Expanding Her Entertainment Portfolio

Published:

Mary J. Blige is broadening her horizons in the world of entertainment as reports emerge of her upcoming radio show. Renowned for her R&B prowess, the “Just Fine” singer is taking her talents to the airwaves, and the news was officially confirmed by Hot 97 host Funk Flex.

Funk Flex, who transitioned from being a rapper to a radio personality, shared the exciting development on his Instagram page, declaring:

“IT’S OFFICIAL—MARY J. BLIGE HAS JOINED THE WBLS STAFF! NEW SHOW ON THE WAY! BEAUTIFUL LIFE! ARE YOU READY TO HEAR MARY IN THOSE CARS?”

News of Mary J. Blige’s venture into radio hosting had been circulating since July of this year. Flex, who will also serve as the creative producer of the show, had hinted at the project’s existence earlier. However, specific details about the show’s launch date and format remained a mystery until now, much to the anticipation of her fans.

This radio show is just one of several projects on Mary J. Blige’s busy schedule. In addition to her upcoming radio gig, she also has a recurring role in the 50 Cent-produced TV series “Power Book II: Ghost” and a talk series deal with BET titled “The Wine Down with Mary J. Blige,” which premiered in March. While the latter only released two episodes, it’s uncertain if more will follow.

Furthermore, Mary J. Blige is reportedly working on a biopic about her life, having inked a deal with BET to produce the film, along with two short films based on some of her biggest hits, which debuted earlier this year. Currently, no additional details about the biopic are available.
