Matt Barnes and Anansa Sims to Share Blended Family Journey in New Reality Series

Published:

Retired NBA player Matt Barnes and his fiancée Anansa Sims are set to give viewers an inside look at their life beyond the basketball court in an upcoming reality series, announced by WEtv on December 11. The show, titled “#TheBarnesBunch,” will chronicle the couple’s journey as they blend their “over-the-top families” while preparing for marriage.

The network shared a brief synopsis on its social media accounts, stating, “He Shoots, WE scores! #TheBarnesBunch follows NBA champion, Matt Barnes, and his fiancée, Anansa Sims, as they navigate blending their over-the-top families while making their way to the altar. Coming soon to @WEtv and @WatchALLBLK!”

Matt Barnes proposed to Anansa Sims in December of the previous year after a reported five-year relationship. Their blended family includes their son, Ashton (born in 2019), Matt’s twin sons, Isiah and Carter (shared with “Basketball Wives” alum Gloria Govan), and Anansa Sims’ three children, Ava Brielle, David Bernard, and Benjamin (from her previous marriage to David Patterson).

While the couple appears to be in a positive place currently, the journey to their upcoming marriage has not always been smooth. In 2020, during a period of separation, Barnes and Sims exchanged online shots, leading to Anansa filing a restraining order against Matt. Fortunately, they reconciled the following year and announced their reunion.

The series is set to air on WEtv and ALLBLK, with no specific release date provided at this time.
