In a recent interview with former Real Housewives of Atlanta producer Carlos King, NeNe Leakes expressed her belief that she should be as big as, if not bigger than, Kim Kardashian. NeNe candidly discussed her feelings about her son Bryson’s drug possession charges in part one of the interview.
In part two, a circulating clip shows NeNe stating that she came into the spotlight before Kim Kardashian but feels that “they” pushed her to the background while promoting Kim to the forefront. NeNe alleges that “they” provided Kim with opportunities that they deliberately withheld from her.
It’s worth noting that Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007, two years prior to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. However, Kim Kardashian had her first reality TV appearance on ‘The Simple Life’ alongside Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in 2003.
NeNe’s statements reflect her frustrations with the entertainment industry’s perception and opportunities she believes she deserved.
