A heated exchange unfolded in the hip-hop scene as ScHoolboy Q found himself embroiled in a public feud with Buffalo-based rapper Dom Brown, who took a swipe at the TDE artist for his stance on creating music tailored for a mature audience rather than teenagers.
The confrontation between the two artists ignited on Wednesday (July 24), with ScHoolboy Q unleashing a fiery critique of Brown’s music following the latter’s disapproval of Q’s reluctance to produce content aimed at younger listeners.
Expressing his discontent, Q took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to address Brown’s comments, stating, “Nobody relates to this, my boy. This is embarrassing, dawg.”
The tension escalated after Brown voiced his disagreement with Q’s views expressed on Kevin Hart’s Gold Minds podcast, where the TDE rapper emphasized his preference for crafting music based on his life experiences rather than catering to a teenage audience.
As the online spat intensified, Q stumbled upon a clip of Brown’s performance on Daytime Buffalo and didn’t hold back in his criticism, labeling it as “f##### awful & embarrassing,” while urging Brown to refrain from such endeavors.
In a surprising turn of events, a fan suggested that Q should include one of Brown’s songs in his upcoming tour date in New York, to which the rapper entertained the idea, hinting at the possibility of incorporating the track into his setlist.
Amidst the clash of opinions and musical styles, ScHoolboy Q continues to make waves in the music industry, with his latest album “Blue Lips” debuting impressively at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart in March, showcasing his enduring talent and relevance in the ever-evolving realm of hip-hop.
