Court documents have unveiled a startling revelation involving West Coast gangster Keefe D, currently facing trial for the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. The new information suggests that Keefe worked as an undercover informant for the Los Angeles Police Department, aiming to implicate Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, in Tupac’s death.
According to the 179-page court filings from Las Vegas prosecutors, Keefe, also known as Duane Davis, collaborated with LAPD detectives after disclosing his involvement in Tupac’s fatal shooting. Despite initial denials regarding the murder of Biggie Smalls, Keefe reportedly provided a recorded confession to law enforcement, detailing how he and his gang orchestrated Tupac’s assassination in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
Keefe alleged that Diddy offered him a substantial sum of money for Tupac’s murder, which was purportedly delivered to a gangster named Eric “Zip” Martin. The court documents also mention Keefe’s visit to New York in 2009 to affirm the conspiracy to kill Tupac, where he encountered Zip and engaged in lengthy conversations at Martin’s restaurant.
Prosecutors further implicate Diddy in the alleged plot to assassinate Tupac, drawing from Keefe’s interviews to suggest the music mogul’s involvement. Despite Keefe’s bid for bail being denied by a judge over concerns about the funding source, prosecutors are presenting compelling evidence against him, including newfound details placing Keefe in Las Vegas on the night of Tupac’s murder.
Suspicion is raised by the revelation that Keefe’s wife’s name was linked to a room booking at the Monte Carlo Resort, the site of Tupac’s shooting, casting doubt on his presence at the scene. As the legal proceedings unfold, the allegations linking Diddy to Tupac’s murder through Keefe D’s undercover activities continue to captivate and intrigue.
